This is Pickle Hill's Wapati Warrior Fch. He was sired by Ch Oranzova's Ariston Fch out of Windyglen's CC of Pickle Hill CD Fch LCM CC CM 500. He is a littermate to Arapaho, Zuni, Hopi, Rebel, Lady Day O'Ladoga (all of whom are titled in either the Open Field or in Lure Coursing), Siberian Express, and Cherokee (who were both pointed in the open field and on the lure). This was an exceptionally competative running litter. The performance abilities of "CC" and "Van" clearly came through in this litter and, so far, have continued to be proven in at least the next 2 generations. Wapati won the Borzoi portion of the First Iron dog event held in California. This was a great feat since he broke his leg in the open field while free coursing at the age of 9 months old. He couldn't be shown until the plate was removed because AKC did not allow dogs with plates to be shown at that time - it was considered altering the dog. After the plate was removed it hindered his gait such that he was would never be considered for a ribbon. It did not hinder his ability to run. He earned his ASFA Fch but I was reluctant to run him too much in the open field after he once caught his leg in a downed hogwire fence.
